We can all agree losing weight is the most tiring task in our lives to achieve when wanting to look good or just increase our general well-being.

Even with all the fad out there surrounding the "magic tablets" and workouts, some of us still find it hard, but with these 4 easy steps, it can be achieved in just 30 days and I will show you this with photos of my own body and the improvements I have made.

A light Breakfast for an energy-filled day:

There is a slight misconception out there. "Eat a heavy breakfast to stay fuller for longer." This is not the case as I have experienced.

During a 30 day challenge I put myself through, it was to focus on eating a light breakfast filled with the right energy-giving foods such as Bananas, oatmeal, and yogurt.

This ensured that I did not feel like sleeping after breakfast.

Eat More NOT Less for Weight Loss

I have often heard colleagues refer to how little they need to eat to get in shape. I then decided to ask an expert Nutritionist on this topic. "This is possibly the worst advice given to them on losing weight," she said. According to studies, once we starve our bodies, yes we do lose weight but it is not sustainable and will like cause rapid weight gain when you do start eating and your general health will suffer. No food = no energy. No energy = Sedentary Lifestyle. It is rather advisable to eat more frequently in lower quantities ie: breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner. Please do not starve yourself.

IT's not what you Eat, but How MUCH of it

I did tons of reading on this topic as I have heard so many myths about cutting out every "bad" food on the planet to lose weight.

Turns out, this is a very mean thing to say. Let me explain: Our body needs what is known as macronutrients. These macronutrients are made up of carbohydrates, fat, and protein.

Macronutrients are the nutritive components of food that the body uses for energy and to maintain its structure and systems.

Our body requires foods like quinoa, sweet potatoes, whole grain, meats, beans, lentils, avocado, dark chocolate, and fatty fish. Now before you get too excited, a piece of fried chicken will not kill you but it's not particularly healthy fat for your body. I will discuss this (Healthy Fats for your body) in another article.

Watch FAT melt Weekly

Nothing is more motivating than tracking your progress and seeing weekly improvements. Ever heard people talking about how long it takes to lose fat?

I have news for you. Fat loss happens every day. Whether it is a pound a day or a pound a week, be proud of your achievements as this will only motivate you to keep going.

Pay attention to how weights you thought were heavy a week ago tend to be a bit lighter this week or how you are doing more reps this week than you were last week. Do not wait till you reach your goal to be proud, be PROUD of every step you take towards reaching that goal.

10 Positivity + 0 Positivity = Positivity

Want to know another myth? "No one can motivate you but yourself" Truth is, joining a like-minded community group can do wonders on the days you are feeling down. Having a pick me up or a motivational story to read can be the difference between making an effort to keep pushing and "Argh, This is too hard". Here is an awesome group I joined with positive people and constant tips to aid me on the days I was down.

Don't Compare Your Chapter 1 to Someone Else's Chapter 11

I often during my 30-day challenge encountered people wanting to workout with me. To be fair, I felt like I was going to show them how it is done. Truth is, I could never keep up and felt disappointed in myself. Honestly, I should have reminded myself that they were way ahead in their exercise regime than I was. Do not focus on where you are right now but rather where you are headed. This will motivate you way more than looking at your best friend's body and thinking "I want to look like him"

Like it or NOT, Calories Burn All Day

As stated earlier in this thread, you are constantly burning calories that burn fat. When you run to the refrigerator or work out for 2 minutes daily, you are burning calories. Pay constant attention to what you are doing, you are burning calories. Remember that it's the small steps we take that lead to big changes.

30 Minutes Daily is Better than 24 Hours Yearly

Too often, workout fanatics advise you as a beginner to train for hours on end or twice a day or 7 days a week to reach your goal. As with starving yourself, this is not sustainable and will only lead to you giving up after day 1.

Take your time till you get into the stride. I did 30 minutes daily with one day's rest. After 3 weeks, I found myself forgetting the time and spending an hour working out.

Train to your comfortability and rest. Rest enables your body to repair muscles and joints. Without adequate rest, you are more prone to mental exhaustion, and could even lead to injury.

Morning Person or Not?

Training in the morning or the evening is an ongoing debate. In my opinion, whatever works for you is what you should do. I train in the evenings as I find those morning workouts to be quite draining and depletes so much of my energy.

On the other hand, my fiancé prefers morning workouts as they give her more energy for the day. (I know, makes no sense) but that is why it is up to you. Try both and see when you're pushing a bit harder.

HIIT Yourself into Shape

No, it is not what you are thinking. Do not hit yourself. It will hurt.

HIIT workouts have been proven to be one of the most effective ways of losing weight. It burns an insane amount of calories in a short period of time and even after the workout, you are burning calories long after. Even health benefits can be gained from doing HIIT such as improving your cardiovascular fitness and lowering blood sugar levels.

HIIT is however not to be done daily and may cause injury and mental fatigue.

Try doing HIIT at least once a week for the best results.

To Supplement or Not to Supplement, that is The Question

Forget everything that you have been told about taking supplements. Yes, they can aid you in burning fat but so does eating the right foods.

I am not hating on supplements, don't get me wrong. Supplements are a great way to assist you, be it meal replacements or pre-workout powders. However, the same could be said for eating the right foods for what you are trying to achieve which is weight loss/fat burning. Hello? that's why you are reading this.

So speak to a professional Personal Trainer or dietician about your needs in this regard, not the gentleman in isle 5 standing next to the supplements trying to convince you to buy the shelf.

Conclusion to All this Information

Do not let anyone tell you how to lose weight. I have spoken to professionals and done some extensive research on how to lose weight.

The truth is, sometimes things just need to be kept simple to motivate people into starting instead of telling them how difficult it is which leads to demotivation.

I hope this post has shown you how simple weight loss can be and will assist you in the choice you have decided to make without following every "FAD" out there, else you would not be reading this.
